Dear Colleague,

it is our pleasure to announce a special session of the RISC seminar
dedicated to

                       Crypto, Coding & Geometry

This is an ``ad hoc'' *two-day* workshop, which came about on the occasion
of a short visit of Prof. Arnaldo Garcia (Rio de Janeiro) and
Prof. Henning Stichtenoth (Istanbul) to CWI.

The workshop will be held at CWI, on Thursday November 18 and Friday
November 19. There is no fee, but *participants are requested to REGISTER
through the workshop website*

It is a joint session of the Intercity number theory seminar and the RISC
seminar, devoted to geometry and its applications in cryptology and coding
theory, with talks on recent developments in the area.

Other invited speakers include Profs. Simeon Ball (Barcelona), Peter
Beelen (Copenhagen), Carles Padró (Singapore), Ruud Pellikaan (Eindhoven),
Jordi Pujolàs (Lleida).
