Dear all,
On Monday 11 August we will hold a 1-day online event.
The event is to commemorate and celebrate the founding of elliptic curve
cryptography 40 years ago by Victor Miller and Neal Koblitz. Victor and
Neal
will give some personal reflections on their work and its legacy. We
will also
celebrate the broad impact of ECC on cryptography in many ways that
would not
have been expected in 1985. Dan Boneh and Kristin Lauter will give brief
lectures to give an overview of some of these impacts. The history of
ECC is a
textbook example of the how fundamental blue-skies research can lead to
practical outcomes in unexpected ways.
The talks will be streamed on YouTube on the ECC channel:
https://www.youtube.com/@ECCworkshop
All talks will be moderated by Steven Galbraith. We have a Zulip chat
server
for you to ask questions or comment on the discussions. If you attended
our
online ECC 2020 you likely already have an account on

Please add yourself to the "2025 -- 40 years of ECC" channel. If you
don't have
an account, yet, you can use the following invite link to make one
